Kodiak's Story

Pet Information
Name: Kodiak ("Kodi")
Age: Approximately 3 years
Weight: 65 Pounds
Breed: Chinese Shar-Pei/Border Collie Mix
Gender: Neutered Male

About Kodi
Kodi is a sweet, affectionate dog with a fun-loving personality and plenty of enthusiasm for life. He is housebroken, moderately crate trained, and enjoys spending time with his people. While he may bark for a short time if he knows people are home, he settles down once he relaxes. Kodi is always excited to meet new people and animals and tends to greet them with hugs, kisses, and lots of curiosity. Once his initial excitement wears off, he does great with both people and pets of all sizes however he is much more timid of men and does not do as well with them.

Kodi loves car rides and is always eager to hop in the vehicle for his next adventure. While baths aren't his favorite, he cooperates, and nail trims are made easy with a little peanut butter and patience. Kodi is looking for a loving home that will appreciate his affectionate nature, playful spirit, and excitement for being part of the family.

At the Humane Society of Midland County, all animals adopted will be spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations prior to an adoption. Dogs over 6 months of age will be heartworm tested, and any dog with a positive test will receive treatment at No Appointment Needed to Meet Adoptable Animals!
We have open adoption hours, and walk-ins are always welcome! While filling out an application lets us know you're interested in adopting, it does not hold an animal, and applications are not required to meet the available animals. We do highly recommend and may require you to bring any dogs that reside in the same household, or that will be around commonly if you are meeting a new dog companion.

Want to Know if I’m Still Available?
Call the shelter at (989)-835-1877 to confirm my availability.
