Koda's Story
Koda is a handsome, 5-year-old orange belton English Setter. Though initially shy coming from a shelter, this sweet, smart boy learns household routines incredibly fast and is a total pleasure to have around. He conquers car rides like a pro and makes an excellent travel buddy. Within a couple of minutes of meeting new people, his shyness melts into a desire for ear scratches and deep cuddles. In the house, Koda is calm and quiet, making him the perfect co-worker during Zoom calls. He'll sometimes play with toys, but not for long. He sleeps peacefully all night and greets the morning with a wagging tail.

Koda enjoys almost daily walks and passes cyclists, runners, and barking dogs with ease. Loud noises like weed whackers or food trucks can still scare him into pulling hard, but he usually recovers his composure quickly and walks beautifully most of the time. He knows when he's close to home and will start to pull. He greets other leashed dogs nicely and did well at dog daycare. While he is currently an only dog, he did great with a visiting senior pup after an enthusiastic play bow. He would thrive as an only dog or with a canine friend, but he does require a strictly cat-free home.

Koda has mastered the dog door, loves patrolling the yard for squirrels and bunnies, and comes immediately when called. He can clear a short two-foot baby gate when excited by outdoor critters and will need a 5-6" fenced yard. Koda will thrive in a quiet, patient home that will help him continue to grow. He would do best in a home with older (10+) calmer children. In return, Koda promises plenty of couch cuddles, and he will even use his signature "roo" to vocalize when he is hungry, needs to go out, or simply missed you. He has even started offering nightly turn down service on the bed :)
