Koda's Story
Koda is a striking 6‑year‑old, 62‑pound gentleman with beautiful black‑and‑white markings and a sweet, expressive smile. He’s settled wonderfully into his foster home and has shown himself to be the perfect mix of playful and affectionate. Koda starts his day with enthusiasm — he loves breakfast — followed by a morning walk, and long, luxurious naps on the couch or in sunny spots. He would love a home with a fenced yard, so he can add a few rounds of fetch to his day and show off his ability to catch a toy mid‑air! Affection is one of Koda’s love languages. He leans in for full-body hugs while you put on your shoes, follows his favorite person from room to room, and happily offers morning kisses. Shoulder scratches and belly rubs are his bliss. And if a distant siren goes by, his husky side often emerges in the most endearing way. Indoors, he’s fully housetrained, content to relax, and waits calmly when his family is out. Coming home involves greetings with his whole heart. Koda is initially unsure with new people at the door, but he warms up quickly. He’s working on redirecting his “alert barking” at vans and visitors, and training is going well with consistency. Out on walks, Koda prefers to avoid other dogs — he finds encounters stressful — and he should be the only pet in the home. He’ll thrive in a peaceful, adult household where he can feel safe and understood. Once Koda feels settled, his gentle‑giant energy fills the home. He relaxes deeply, and that calmness is contagious. He’s a loyal companion, a champion napper, a toy connoisseur, and a dog who will make his person feel truly chosen.
