It was clear she hadn't always known kindness. With patience, love, and time, she has slowly started to come out of her shell and what were seeing now is incredibly special.

Once she trusts you, she is pure love. Her whole body wiggles when she wags her tail, she gives the sweetest kiss kisses, and she absolutely adores cuddling up close. Sleeping beside her person is one of her favourite things being near you makes her feel safe.

She is still a timid girl and will need a calm, patient home that understands she wont be an instant, confident dog. Sudden movements and loud environments can still make her nervous, so she needs someone willing to go at her pace and let her build trust in her own time.

She has been wonderful with our older kids (8 and 11), who understand how to be gentle and respectful with her. Because of her timid nature, she would not be a good fit for a home with babies or toddlers.

She would thrive in a home with another friendly, confident dog. She has formed a strong bond with one of ours, and having a canine companion really helps her feel secure and brings out her playful, happy side.

Her ideal home will include:
A securely fenced yard with no gaps or escape routes
Double-leashing during her transition period for safety
Continued potty training
A calm, patient environment with lots of love and reassurance
Another dog companion to help her build confidence

Cats are unknown.

She is not an easy or instant dog but for the right person, she will be everything. The bond you build with her is deep, meaningful, and so worth the time it takes to earn her trust.

If you're someone with patience, compassion, and a gentle home, she will reward you with a kind of love that is truly special.

To apply to adopt this dog, please follow this link: http://forms.gle/Ev16pQeQ2zAZWLig6

Rat Terrier Rescue Canada Adoption Fees
Puppies under 1 year - $775
Young adult 1 year - 5 years $650
Adults 6 years - 9 years $575
Seniors 10+ $325

The adoption fee includes spay/neuter .
*EXCLUDING UNALTERED PUPPIES UNDER A YEAR.

The adoption fee also includes, at a minimum, age appropriate vaccinations, de-worming, I.D. tag and microchip insertion.
