Koda's Story
Meet Koda!

Age: 3 years | Weight: 63 lbs

Koda is a stunning husky/malamute mix who is ready to find her forever home! Unlike many huskies, she’s a low-maintenance girl, perfectly content with a short walk or some yard time before heading back inside to enjoy the AC.

Koda is crate trained, walks nicely on leash, and is potty trained. She’s gentle, curious, and independent, making her an easy companion who doesn’t demand constant attention. She is truly loyal and once she chooses you as her person, the bond is unbreakable!

That said, Koda will do best with structure and boundaries. She can be protective of her food, toys, and even her favorite spots like the couch, so she will need a confident adopter who understands how to manage resource guarding or is open and willing to learn. Koda will thrive with an owner who has experience with her breed, and plans to implement consistent structure.

Feeding her in her crate and skipping couch privileges will help set her up for success. Koda has lived with other dogs and even with cats and done well, but she also prefers her space. Because she can be protective of her things with other dogs and is a bit too interested in cats, we feel that she would do best as an only pet in the home to soak up all the attention/food/toys/treats for herself.

Koda is also a true beauty queen! With her gorgeous coat, she’ll need regular brushing to keep her looking and feeling her best.

If you’re looking for a loyal companion who enjoys a calmer lifestyle, Koda may be your perfect match. She’s ready to share her love and personality with the right family!

Apply to adopt Koda at:
acesplacerescue.org/availabledogs
Located in Denton, Texas
