Koda's Story
BASIC FACTS

Breed: Lab/Rottie Mix
Color: Black with tan shading
Age: 1-1/2 years old
Gender: Male
Size: 45 pounds (medium)
House-trained: Yes
Crate trained: yes
Good with Kids: no
Good with Dogs: Yes, larger dogs only
Good with Cats: no
Concerns: (none)

BIOGRAPHY

You really need this goofy guy in your life. He’s funny, sweet and sensitive. He SO wants to make his person happy. This boy has been with his foster mom for a long time and all he really wants is a home of his very own! Why does he keep getting overlooked? Is it the dreaded “black dog” syndrome??

Koda had a tough start in life. As a weeks old puppy, he was surrendered to a shelter in the deep south and sort of forgotten. Luckily he found a rescue willing to work with him and show him love and teach him to be comfortable with other dogs and people.

Koda is now almost 2 years old. He loves to sleep in the big bed and cuddle, and he loves to go for walks. He absolutely loves to play with any stuffie that will squeak for him. He lives with 5 other dogs and helps with other foster dogs that have come and gone. He is not good with cats, livestock or children.

With people, Koda is still wary until he knows the person, then he is fine. He has never bitten anyone, but he has a scary bark which has been reassuring to his foster mom, who is a single woman. He is not a dog you encourage people to greet while on a walk or run.

Koda would do best with another dog to show him the way when he doesn’t know what to do. He would do best with an experienced dog owner who will understand his body language and help him work through rough spots and keep him safe. He has only been trained with positive training method.

Koda is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative. He is being fostered in the Philadelphia PA area and is available for an adoption fee of $200.00.

If you are interested in adopting, please submit an application online at www.sophiasgracefoundation.org
