Koda's Story

Hi, I'm Koda. I'm a purebred girl and I think I'm all that and then some. I'm 3.5 years old, about 55 lbs (the perfect size) and just full of life (and myself).

I came into the rescue with my friend, Riley, when our life suddenly changed and our beloved person passed away unexpectedly. It's been a little rough for everyone but I'm mending and ready to jump into my next chapter. It's been a big change for me and I'm really doing my best to be my best - which is pretty spectacular after all.

I'm a friendly, healthy girl who enjoys meeting people. I may give you the brush off at first but it's just me playing hard to get. I really want to be your bestie and share all your secrets. I am working on my dog skills. I lived with Riley, but I'm finding new dogs are just so demanding so I've been telling them to give me space. I get it though, I need to be on my best behavior so I can show off. I have met a few other dogs and they're ok but it really is all about me.

You can take me with you in the car, I love riding and I"m pretty chill. I did bark at a mutt that come too close to me and my new friend but she told me to chill and I did. So many rules!! How does one keep it all straight?

II went to the vet recently and won't be having any puppies, thank goodness. I did great and was a perfect lady. I walk pretty well on my front clip harness and right now my nose just has a mind of its own and I can't help but explore everything. I'm pretty confident and outside noises, bikes, cars, sirens, etc., don't bother me in the least. I will jump up on anything you ask me to and sometimes on things you don't ask me to. I love to see what's there and I'm pretty agile. I'm also very fast and very smart. My friends call me a little firecracker.

I've not met any cats or small critters so I'm not sure if I would want to chase them or not. I may be meeting some in the near future and we'll see. Right now I'm just looking for the right home. One that will love me and give me time to heal — you'll be giving me the fresh start I so desperately need after losing the person I loved. If I'm not your cup of tea, check out my dog sister, Riley. She's with me here but we're ok moving on separately.

I'm currently in Santa Rosa waiting and hoping my next chapter begins with you.

You like this dog...now what? Please take 3-4 minutes and complete our application form at: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/42179/generic. Our adoption team will quickly contact you by phone or email (watch your spam please) to see if it's a match!. If you are already approved to adopt, please contact your Adoption Counselor and they will help you set up a meeting.

You can also sponsor Koda clicking here. Your name will appear on this page as Koda's sponsor and your donation will help pay for food, treats, toys, supplements and medical expenses. Koda thanks you!

BAGSR is always in need of fosters. There is an overwhelming number of dogs who need our help and the more fosters we have, the more dogs we can save. BAGSR covers expenses, including food. Fosters provide the love and a soft place to crash.
https://petstablished.com/foster_form/42405/generic
