Koda 101125's Story
Meet Koda!

Breed: Shepherd/Border Collie Mix
Estimated DOB: 06/07/2025
Sex: Male (neutered)
Weight: 50-55 lbs
Currently up to date on all age appropriate vaccinations

Koda was rescued from Mississippi and diagnosed with congenital pulmonic stenosis, a serious heart condition. In December, he underwent a balloon valvuloplasty that we hoped would give him a long, healthy life. Despite our best efforts and extremely positive odds, a recent follow-up showed the procedure didn't work as we'd hoped, and Koda may not have the long 10-15 year life we were all fighting for.

But here's the incredible thing about Koda: he didn't get the memo! Meeting this sweet boy, you would never know there's anything going on with his heart. Koda loves people of all ages and gets enthusiastically excited on walks and in public simply because he wants to say hi to everyone he meets! He has bonded quickly with many of his foster siblings and would make a wonderful companion to another playful dog.

Koda is smart and eager to learn. He already knows commands such as "sit," "down," "come," and "stay." His love of treats makes training a breeze! This fun, playful pup loves toys, playing tug-of-war, gnawing on Yak bones, evening snuggles, and stretching out in a sunny spot for naps.

Things To Know about Koda:

Sweet, curious, and confident personality with adorable oversized ears
100% housebroken and crate trained
Should be kept on leash or in a fenced yard for his safety
Dog friendly and would make a great companion to another playful dog
Would need a dog savvy cat who can set boundaries, as he wants to play

Koda's resilience, strength, and happiness are nothing short of extraordinary. After everything he's overcome, Koda deserves a truly special family that will help him live life to the fullest for as long as his heart allows.

Learn more and apply to adopt at http://TLCrescuePA.org/adopt

Interested in fostering?
