Meet Kobe (PUPDATE and video added)
PUPDATE
Kobe is being worked with by a local trainer and his assistant lately and he is doing great! He is very smart and willing to learn. He knows sit, down, heel, come and he also knows hand signals. Walks on a loose leash in a heel. Loves to play with toys and is very friendly and loves pets. He is a strong dog and will need a confident handler who can be consistent with him. We did test him with a female shepherd mix but she is not fixed and he tried to mate her and she corrected him but would not stop his advances. We will try him with a fixed female and see how that goes. He would really benefit from a foster home.
Kobe came to us as a owner surrender as he killed several cats on the farm. He is a big strong dog so he will need a strong handler and someone who has the experience with a large breed. He is a 2 year old German Shepherd. and weighs about 76 pounds. He is not good with cats and he is reactive to male dogs. His intake profile says he is good with medium sized female dogs but we have not tested this yet. Also says he is gentle with young children but I would not trust him with small children with his size and strength. He is housebroken and crate trained. He did not seem to want to interact with me when I did his initial intake. He was in a new yard so there was a lot of new smells. He did however act playful and interacted with a male kennel tech so it just may be that he is better with men than women. He was used to running around on a farm and not in a fenced yard. Hes not liking the confinement of the kennels and he is starting to go a little kennel crazy. He is all ready to find his forever home.
