Kobe's Story

Name: Kobe
Age: 2 Years
Breed: Australian Shepherd Mix
Sex: Male
Energy Level: Medium

Personality & Story:
Kobe is a beautiful 2-year-old Australian Shepherd mix with a heart as big as his bright, expressive eyes. Though he was shy at first, it didn’t take long for his affectionate personality to shine. By night three, he was lying tummy-up in his foster’s lap, fully embracing the cuddly life.

Kobe has quickly become an irreplaceable part of the home — he makes every morning brighter by hopping onto the bed, ready for his daily walk and quality time. He is incredibly loving, enjoys close contact, and thrives on connection. While he has settled in wonderfully, he would likely do best in a home with kids or another older dog to keep him company, as he can get a bit bored when left alone.

Training & Home Life:
Kobe is fantastic when it comes to training and is eager to please. He has had no bathroom accidents, even when left loose in the home during the workday — a huge accomplishment! While he isn’t the biggest fan of the crate, he has started to warm up to it and will go inside when needed.

On leash, Kobe walks well overall. He may pull lightly toward the next exciting tree, but he responds to verbal corrections and quickly stops when told. He can get a little startled when other dogs bark at him on walks, but he recovers well.

He knows several commands including Sit, Lie Down, Shake, and Kiss, and he picks up new words quickly. He is highly intelligent and very trainable — with consistency and creativity, there’s no doubt he could master just about anything you teach him!

One funny quirk: Kobe sometimes picks up his food bowl and spills part of it onto the floor before eating. A heavier or non-slip bowl may help with that habit.

Good With:

• Dogs: Yes (would benefit from a calm companion)
• Kids: Yes, older — would likely enjoy the activity and company
• Men & Women: Yes

Health:
Kobe appears to be in excellent health. His gums are a healthy pink, his stools are solid, his weight is stable, and his coat is shiny and well-maintained.

What Kobe Needs in a Forever Home:
Kobe would thrive in a loving, engaging home that provides companionship and mental stimulation. As a smart and sensitive boy, he would benefit from toys, enrichment activities, and possibly another dog or family members who are home more often. He loves affection, enjoys routine, and bonds deeply with his people.

With his intelligence, loyalty, and affectionate nature, Kobe is ready to become someone’s best friend and devoted companion. He’s the kind of dog who will greet you every morning with joy and make your house truly feel like home.

Fostered in Sarnia, ON
