Kobe's Story

Kobe is a 4 year old Lab/Border Collie Mix. He is so sweet and another volunteer favorite. Kobe would benefit as an only animal in the house, and no younger kids. Kobe is originally a Florida boy, but his dad passed away a few months back and he ended up in IL with his then caretaker. Due to sever allergies, Kobe once again needed to find a new home. Kobe could not be relinquished to any local shelters due to capacity, (a problem that still continues sadly). He was then brought to a local vets office and requested he be put to sleep. That's when we stepped in. Kobe has been with a foster but its only temporary. We are calling on anyone with the heart to take on this sweet boy.

Blue Island Stray Dog Project's Adoption Policy
We have potential adopters fill out an application (linked on PetFinder or please email Blueislandstrays@gmail.com). Once we get a potential adopters application, we process background checks, vet checks, and reference checks. We like to speak and get to know the adopter to ensure a good fit and set up the adopter and the dog for success! Once approved for adoption, we like to conduct home visits when possible, and if a potential adopter has another dog in the house, we make it mandatory for dog meets with the other dog; sometimes, more than once.
