KOBE's Story

WATCH MY VIDEO...If good looks, a big personality, and a loving heart are on your wish list, then meet Kobe! This handsome 11⁄2-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier is ready to leave his past behind and start the next chapter of his life with a family that will be his forever.

Sadly, Kobe's journey to the shelter wasn't because of anything he did. He became the victim of a divorce, and when neither person was able to keep him, he found himself searching for a new place to call home.

His former family shared wonderful things about him. Kobe is housebroken, has always lived indoors, and is accustomed to being part of the family. They reported that he gets along well with adults, children ages 10 and older, other dogs, and even cats. Of course, proper introductions are always recommended when bringing any new pet into the home.

Kobe is the kind of dog who believes everyone he meets is a potential new friend. He loves people and is always ready to play. When meeting someone new, his excitement sometimes gets the better of him and he may jump up to say hello, but once he's had a chance to burn off some energy, he settles down nicely.

Since arriving at the shelter, our staff has fallen for Kobe's fun-loving personality. He is incredibly sociable and friendly, happily soaking up attention, pets, and affection from everyone he meets. He knows how to sit, walks nicely on a leash, and absolutely loves treats, especially Milk-Bones! While toys don't always capture his attention, turn on a hose and you'll quickly discover one of his favorite activities. Kobe loves chasing the water and zooming around with pure joy.

This young guy is full of energy and enthusiasm. He enjoys interactive play, running around the yard, and making the most of every opportunity to stretch his legs. After the fun is over, though, Kobe has a softer side. He loves to snuggle and is happiest when he can be close to his people.

Shelter life has been a little challenging for him. Kobe becomes anxious when confined to his kennel, which isn't unusual for a social, active dog who would much rather be spending time with people. Once outside, however, he relaxes and shows everyone what a wonderful companion he can be.

At just a year and a half old, Kobe has all the enthusiasm and joy of a young dog, along with the loving nature that makes American Staffordshire Terriers such devoted companions. Now he's hoping to find the forever family he deserves. One that will appreciate his playful spirit, his affectionate heart, and his love of adventure. If you're looking for a loyal best friend who can keep up with your active lifestyle and then curl up beside you for some snuggles, Kobe may be the perfect match.
