Koa's Story

Koa is 8.5 years old... and she looks at people like she's still trying to figure out if she's allowed to be loved.

She came to us from animal control completely emaciated, her body covered in painful flea dermatitis, her spirit worn down in a way that doesn't happen overnight. It's clear Koa was abused. You can see it in the way she hesitates at first--like she's expecting kindness to be taken away just as quickly as it's given.

We don't know everything she's been through.
But we know it wasn't fair.

Still, Koa is gentle. She is sweet. She is patient. She is so, so forgiving.
She's good with other dogs, wonderful with kids, and once she realizes she's safe, she leans into you like she's been waiting her whole life for that moment. (Not sure about cats yet but we can see!)

Now she's starting to heal. Her coat is slowly coming back in. Her skin is improving. She's gaining weight little by little. But healing in a kennel is hard especially for a dog who has already gone so long without proper care and stability.

✨ Her adoption fee is WAIVED ✨

Please don't overlook her because she's older.
Please don't assume someone else will come for her.

Koa has already been failed once. She doesn't deserve to be failed again.

She doesn't need much.
Just someone who will be gentle. Someone who will be patient.
Someone who will finally choose her.Puppies 6 months and under are typically $200 and dogs from 7 months to 6 years are typically $100.00. The adoption fee may be higher or lower than stated however, and is dependent on many factors including age, behavior, medical condition and demand. All dogs 7 years and older are free under our Saving Seniors program. We frequently run discount specials and occasionally a dog will be more than the stated fee.

Most cats and kittens are $35.00, however there may be instances in which the fee is higher or lower, due to age, behavior, medical condition or demand. With felines, we always have an "Adopt one, bring another one home for free" adoption special!

✨ Her adoption fee is WAIVED ✨

Please don't overlook her because she's older.
Please don't assume someone else will come for her.

Koa has already been failed once. She doesn't deserve to be failed again.

She doesn't need much.
