Klaus's Story
Klaus is the silliest, happiest boy, but a touch timid with new people. Takes a few hours in a new home and then you see how fun and affectionate he is. He issmaller than looks in photos, as he is only 38 lbs of fluff and fun. Klaus is about a year old and loves other dogs and cats, so a home with other animals is a must, as is a fenced yard (although he can jump a 4' if his people are on the other side). Klaus sleeps in bed with us and is just a love bug.Truly just the best little guy; this boy will not disappoint. Active and playful, but not hyper. Not sure of his exact breed. A must meet, for he will steal your heart for sure. Dog's Best Friend Adoption Center is a holistic based, in-home adoption facility, that utilizes an adoption application and screening process. We work with all of our dogs and crate train and housebreak and temperament test. We require personal and vet references and a home check made prior to adopting one of our dogs. All of our dogs are companion animals that must be kept inside the house with the rest of the family members. All of our dogs are temperament tested, well mannered, and know some basic commands ~ they are worked with daily, as someone is always here with them. All of our dogs do well with other dogs and many do well with cats.

Adoption are usually $595, depending on breed, age, size, vetting, and training of the dog (some pure bred or tiny dog fees are higher; older dogs or special needs dogs are much lower). This donation helps to pay for shots, de-wormings, spays, neuters, flea protection, heartworm/Lyme testing, treatments, and other vetting/issues that might be needed, for dogs in our care.

Our dogs are well socialized, very friendly, well mannered, affectionate, and in wonderful health. We work with our adopters in any way we can, to help them to work with their new family member,. We give training tips and behavioral tips, and even board for a very reasonable fee. Our dogs are extremely well cared for and most even know how to use a dog door by the time they leave us, know basic commands, and are crate trained! We stand by our pups/dogs, and give 10 days for a refund and almost always take our dogs back at any age of their lives (can sometimes depend on the dog)!

Dog's Best Friend dogs truly make wonderful family pets. Please email us for an application. (If you email us and do not hear back from us within 24 hours, please try again, as we most likely did not receive your email!) (Also note that many of our dogs are fostered just across the border into PA)
