Klaus's Story

Klaus is a handsome and loyal soul looking for a patient partner to show him the ropes of indoor life! This smart boy is the definition of a "velcro dog"—once he bonds with you, his protective and loving nature shines through.

Klaus likely had a rough start, as he was found abandoned in a rural area before being taken in by his current foster home. Despite his past, he is brave soul and absolutely loves loading up in the car for new adventures. He is a creature of habit who thrives on routine and already knows how to "sit" like a total gentleman. He has plenty of energy for playtime and currently gets along great with his canine foster sibling.

Because Klaus has spent his time outside, he is looking for a gentle home where he can transition to being a cherished indoor companion. He is a sensitive guy who responds best to soft words and positive reinforcement. He's also looking for a patient teacher to help him overcome his "leash-phobia" and show him that household items like brooms aren't so scary after all.

A few quick facts about Klaus:

* Personality: Smart, high-energy, and deeply loyal. About 2 years old, 60lbs.
* Training: Great with routines and already knows how to sit
* Travel: Excellent car rider who is always ready to go
* Friends: Good with other dogs; has not yet been tested with cats

Since Klaus is still learning to navigate life on a leash, a home with a secure, fenced-in yard would be the perfect "safe zone" for him to burn off his energy and practice his house manners at his own pace.

This environment would allow him to thrive and continue building his confidence as he transitions from being an outdoor-only dog to a cherished indoor family member.

If interested in meeting Klaus, please fill out our application here: https://form.jotform.com/220199338769066

Saving Grace Rescue LBK's Adoption Policy
Our adoption fee is $225 (locally). This fee goes toward the cost of our vetting expenses for the dog, which includes the dog being spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. We require an application and home visit for adoption of one of our dogs. We want to ensure our dogs are placed in forever homes and are not in a situation that would be unsafe for the dog or perpetuate the misconceptions surrounding Pit Bulls. We prefer that adopters be at least 21 years old, but we will consider applicants under 21 on a case by case basis - so please still fill out an application. Please keep in mind that we know our dogs well; behavior, temperament, special needs, etc. Any decisions we make are in trying to do what's best for our dogs and the homes that we adopt them into. **If you are adopting out of state and we are sending a dog for adoption through our partner, Project Freedom Ride, the adoption fee is $500 which covers all vetting requirements and transport costs.**
