Kiya's Story
This is Kiya. She's about 9 years old, spayed, up to date on basic vaccines. Her person broke her hip so she moved into her daughter's home, who has another female dog. Sometimes they play as you can see in this video, but way too often they will get in a fight and it's a knock down drag out they knock over furniture and it's scary. The daughter is really concerned that they will knock over the mother or knock something on to her. Plus dog fights are no fun, and keeping them separated is wearing on them.

Kiya has lived with the cat and has done well, she barks at goats and other livestock, but doesn't give chase. She hasn't been around tiny children so might be too big and powerful. They believe she is a Great Pyrenees / Alsatian mix, about 65 lbs. They seem to believe she needs to be in a dog-free home, but I wonder if she couldn't get along with another nice male or even a more submissive female. Apparently the other dog in this household is pretty quick to start fight. If you're interested in learning more about our meeting Kiya, please get in touch with Caitlin at 970-739-0304. Kiya is this sweet girl that really needs a new home.
