Kintsugi (tri-pawd)'s Story

Kintsugi is a sweet little senior tripod girl that has been through a lot yet persevered and is loving life! Kintsugi is good with kids, dogs, and showing signs of being good with cats! As a senior, she is not overly playful, but just enjoys the presence of other dogs.

She loves to snuggle. If you’re sitting down for a second, she is on your lap, but if you’re cooking, cleaning, etc., she just quietly follows you around. She also loves to be held! She loves exploring outside, just hopping around sniffing or watching the birds. Sometimes her foster mom has to make her come inside when it’s time, just like a little kid!

She is potty trained and crate trained. She loves a soft bed or blanket and loves to receive belly rubs. She has loved going on little adventures. As soon as her harness is on, she does little happy hops! Even as a senior, she still has a lot of joy, curiosity, and adventures left in her!

She isn't necessarily distrusting or avoiding people, but she does take a day or so to be comfortable and affectionate with new people. Kintsugi came to our rescue in awful shape. She was so severely matted and neglected that the matting had cut off circulation to her leg and ultimately broke it. She was malnourished and required hospitalization at the Mazie’s Mission vet for several days. Once she had her surgery to remove the leg, she felt so much better!! She is now healthy, growing her fur back from being shaved, spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and loving life!! If you are interested in making her a part of your family, reach out to us at www.maziesmission.org/adopt to discuss!
