Kinny and Poppy

Meet adorable Kinny! ( Kinny has a "twin" sister, Poppy) they love each other and love to play with each other, we are hoping they can be adopted together. If adopted out separately, of course would depend on the future home. See Poppy's profile on Petfinder as well.<br/>After we got Poppy out of the shelter, we found out that she came in with Kinny, so of course, we had to go back to get him. They were so happy and relieved to see each other again. He was terrified in the shelter, it was heartbreaking, as was Poppy. They were filthy, neglected and just so scared! Once they were in their foster home, everything changed. They both went from cowering to running and playing, flying through the air to land on the couch. They could feel the love and knew they were safe!<br/><br/>Kinny is about 1-2 years old, he is neutered, current on vaccines, microchipped, he weighs 18-20 lbs. We think he is a Havanese mix, maybe Maltipoo. he has a long body with a happy, wagging tail. <br/>Kinny is a really young dog, more puppy like and needs a semi active-active home to play with him, take him on walks or hikes, which he still needs a little learning on how to walk on a leash. He is super smart, so we know he will get there! He gets along great with other dogs. We don't know about cats. He rides well in a car, but needs to be secured with a seatbelt harness. Kinny is learning commands and learning to go potty outside. His next home will need to continue working on this with giving him frequent potty breaks outside with positive words and praise. He is very sweet. <br/>His coat ( once grown back- the shelter shaved him down)- see his shelter picture in his little purple shirt- will need to be groomed every 7-8 weeks to keep his coat and nails healthy and mat free. Brushing a couple of times a week will also be needed. <br/><br/>Kinny needs a fully fenced yard, at least 5' tall. We think he would get along great with respectful, somewhat quiet kids.
