Why choose me?<br/>Update: King Kong is a big boy but he is secretly just a little baby! He is still learning that bikes and scooters are a normal occurrence out in the world. He was suspicious of the car at first but he trusts you. He is sooo sweet! He was such a hit at the Farmers Market. He barks while at the shelter because he doesnt want to be there. Cannot blame him. He didnt bark at the Farmers Market at all. Probably because he loves being around people and really enjoyed being with puppy, Wren. He really needs a home of his own.<br/><br/>King Kong has become my buddy. He's so happy when I take him out that he smiles and wiggles with joy. He loves treats and showing me all of his skills like sitting for treats, offering his paw to shake, and lying down on command. He also loves being pet! Today, he wanted to play with toys, but the turf was hot, and as soon as he got in the sun, he ran back to the shade. I gave him a few toys in the shade, but he decided he'd rather sit beside me and enjoy more pets. Kong is a good dog who likes to please and be with a friend. He made me smile walking back to his kennel as he stopped at different puppy kennels to say hi. In some ways, he's like a pup himself.<br/><br/>When King Kong first arrived at the shelter, he was too scared to leave his kennel, but he's coming around and finding out he can have fun with friends in an interaction pen. He was already outside with a caretaker when I joined them. I soon learned that Kong is a smart dog who quickly sits for treats. He also knows how to shake and lie down for them. I was impressed with how well Kong listened and followed commands. He saw me as a new friend, and I sneaked in a few pets as I rewarded him with treats. He still needs time to feel comfortable with being leashed, but he'll get there. Kong seems to like other dogs and had fun running along the fence with his canine neighbor.
