King's Story

ISO FOSTER OR ADOPTER

Meet King! King is a young Rottweiler we recently pulled, and he is looking for a foster takeover — or better yet, an adopter/foster to adopt! King cannot live with cats, which is why we need to move him ASAP.

Here are some notes from Kings current foster:

"When I met King at Kershaw County Animal Shelter, he wasn't jumping at the kennel door asking for attention.

He was terrified. Completely shut down and unsure of humans.

But around other dogs? You could see a completely different King.

He arrived at the shelter underweight at around 50 pounds and incredibly fearful. I knew I couldn't leave him there, so King came home with me.

And in just over ONE WEEK, I have watched him absolutely blossom.

King LOVES other dogs and thrives with a canine friend by his side. They give him confidence, help him feel safe, and bring out the playful, happy dog hiding underneath all that fear. Because of that, I would really love to see him in a home with another dog.

And underneath all that shyness? There is one INCREDIBLE dog.

Fully potty trained
Crate trained
Walks beautifully on leash
An A+ co-pilot in the car
Fantastic with other dogs
Sweet, gentle & learning every day that humans can be good

King can still be shy when meeting new people, so his perfect family isn't looking for a dog who will immediately throw himself into their lap.

They're looking for the privilege of earning it.

He needs someone willing to give him patience, love, and the opportunity to continue becoming the dog I already know is in there. Watching his confidence grow and more of his personality come out every day has been incredibly special.

King is a dogs-only kind of guy. He loves his canine crew, but he needs a feline-free home. Give him a dog bestie and hell be perfectly happy.

King has spent enough time being afraid of the world.

Now he deserves a family who will show him just how good it can be."

Apply to foster or adopt at:

BridgeBetweenAnimalRescue.org

We require approved applications before potential adopters can meet any of our pets, (unless we are at a public event with adoptable animals). Our adoption process is as follows: the first step is to submit an application on our website in the "adopt" tab. Then we will need to receive any veterinary records for current or previous pets. Once those are received, we reach out to references, and then set up a home visit and meet and greet for the pet the potential adopter is interested in.
