KING's Story
King is a 5-year-old Mini Australian Shepherd with a gentle soul looking for a fresh start. He came to rescue through no fault of his own after being repeatedly attacked by another dog in his home. His owner loved him dearly and was heartbroken to make the difficult decision to surrender him but ultimately knew it was the safest choice for King. King was purchased from a breeder as a puppy and spent his entire life with his owner, so this transition has been a big adjustment for him. Unsurprisingly, he can be a little shy when meeting new people, but once he feels comfortable, his affectionate side shines through. One of King's favorite places to be is curled up in his foster mom's lap, soaking up gentle pets and brushing sessions. He thrives on companionship and simply wants to be close to his people. At just under 16 pounds, King is the perfect size for lap snuggles. He is crate trained, though he'd much rather be where he can keep an eye on his family. Because he forms strong bonds with his humans, we're hoping to find him a home where someone is around often and can provide plenty of love, attention, and companionship.

Despite his difficult experiences with other dogs, King has remained friendly and social with his canine companions. His forgiving nature is truly remarkable, and he gets along well with other dogs. He is also pee pad trained and recently enjoyed a spa day, leaving him looking and feeling his very best. King is neutered, up to date with vaccinations and microchipped. King is a sweet, loyal boy who deserves a home where he will feel safe, cherished, and included as part of the family. If you're looking for a devoted companion who will happily spend his days by your side, King may be the perfect match.

If you would like to meet KING, or for more information, please email PetRescueOfMercer@gmail.com Applicants must live within 60min driving distance of Hamilton, NJ to be considered.
