Kimble's Story

Meet Kimble!

Kimble is a 4 year old black and rust female with soft natural ears and a docked tale. Kimble came to us from an Ohio shelter, where she was plotting her great escape. For three whole months, she was on the run before being caught. She successfully evaded the dog warden, local residents, and even a sneaky drone. Kimble's name is inspired by Richard Kimble from The Fugitive - fitting for this resourceful, sly girl.

Kimble has impeccable manners: she's reliably housebroken, crates without a fuss, and you'll never have to worry about inappropriate chewing. She's a joy on walks, mastering the leash, and her gentle nature shines through when taking treats or toys. Grooming is easy, as she's perfectly fine with nail trims or use of the dremel. She's also a social butterfly with other other dogs. New faces can make her a little hesitant, and she might try to retreat from new or uncomfortable situations, but she's remarkably resilient. With gentle encouragement, she overcomes her shyness and responds well. She's also a smart cookie, currently working on mastering stairs and making great strides!

Kimble would thrive under the guidance of a confident owner who encourages her to overcome her fears in novel situations. A self-assured canine companion would also be beneficial in providing her with support. She exhibits playful behavior and clicks her teeth together when seeking attention. Kimble generally coexists with cats, but a gradual introduction is recommended. Her interactions with felines may vary, ranging from ignoring them to initiating play. Kimble does require a physical fence to keep her safely contained in the backyard.

Please note, we are accepting applications in most of Ohio, southeastern Michigan, southeastern Indiana and western Pennsylvania.

Interested in Kimble?
