Kimber - Adoption Pending!

Kimber is a sweet, energetic GSP who is settling into foster life and showing us more of her personality every day. After her first week, her foster family reports that this girl is equal parts on the go and ready to snuggle. She loves being near her people and will happily lean in for some attention whenever she gets the chance.<br/><br/>Kimber is curious and interested in everything happening around her. She loves balls and plush toys and enjoys playing fetch, although she is still learning that the ball should come back to you rather than wherever she has decided she would rather be! She is also becoming more comfortable in the home, and her foster family says her vocal sass is starting to make an appearance. Given the opportunity, she may also decide that counter surfing is a perfectly reasonable hobby.<br/><br/>She has done wonderfully with the resident cats in her foster home and seems largely uninterested in them. When meeting new dogs, Kimber can be a little timid at first and likes to take a moment to feel them out. Once she gets comfortable, she warms up quickly and has done well with dogs ranging from an energetic young dog to a senior, both male and female. She showed some food guarding when she first arrived in foster, but this behavior has already improved and has not been observed recently. Her foster family continues to manage mealtimes appropriately while she settles in.<br/><br/>Kimber has plenty of young dog energy and is very fast, so her new family should be prepared for an active dog who needs exercise, engagement, and continued training. She is bouncy and inquisitive on walks and has some basic manners, including sit and down, that will benefit from continued reinforcement. She does pull a little on walks but is otherwise enjoying getting out and exploring her neighborhood. She rides well in the car and is comfortable being crated.<br/><br/>Most importantly, Kimber is a loving girl who wants to be part of the action and part of her family.
