Kerensa's Story
The sweetest dogs have some of the hardest adjustments to shelter life.
After two plus weeks with us Kerensa is still scared and trembly. She doesn’t understand what she did wrong (it was nothing). Coming out of her kennel is hard. It is her safe place. Outside she shakes in corners and owner searches. Kerensa is an expect at snuggling. She really doesn’t ask for anything but love. She is such a sweet dog and this hectic environment is destroying her sensitive soul.

Chicago Animal Care and Control is located at 2741 S. Western Ave., Chicago, IL, and is open from 12pm to 7pm daily. Walk-in visitors are welcome and helped on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are planning to adopt the day you visit, please plan to arrive before 5:30pm. Visitors arriving after 5:30pm will still be able to view animals in Pavilions A-B-C until 7pm.

All dogs will be spayed/neutered and vaccinated before adoption.

All household members should be present to meet dogs (especially those under 18 and any decision-makers).

We recommend and can arrange dog-to-dog meet and greets for your current dog(s) to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter. You will need to show proof of up-to-date rabies vaccination for your dog(s). Slow, cautious, and appropriate introductions are recommended after you allow time for decompression for the shelter dog.

If you have any questions, please email caccpetfinder@gmail.com

A307893
