Meet Kenzie!<br/><br/>Kenzie is a 4.5-month-old Shepherd mix who is officially too smart for her own good—but in the best way possible! If you want a dog that’s a mix of a loyal shadow, a star student, and a professional snuggler, she’s your girl.<br/><br/>The Highlights<br/>• The "Shadow" Life: Kenzie follows her humans everywhere—kitchen, bathroom, you name it. She’ll snuggle for a solid 5 minutes, then head for a cool spot on the floor right by your feet to keep watch. (She’s very affectionate and comes up for lots of hugs).<br/>• Quick Learner: She has mastered "Sit," "Wait," "Leave It," and "Drop It." She’s even cured her own "counter surfing" habit because she’s such a dedicated student! 🎓<br/>• Schedule Pro: She is thriving on a consistent routine! She is doing fantastic with her house manners and regular potty breaks. 🚽✅<br/>• Crate & Stairs: She is a stair-climbing pro and handles her crate like a champ. She goes in willingly when asked, and while she might bark for a second to say she'd rather be with you, she settles down quickly.<br/>• Social & Brave: She’s great with all dogs and is a total pro at bath time and nail trims (especially since I mix in plenty of hugs).<br/>• The "Lucky" Ear: She has one ear shorter than the other from a past injury, but it only adds to her unique beauty—and she can still hear a treat bag from a mile away! 👂✨<br/><br/>Walk Manners (A Work in Progress!) 🚶<br/>Kenzie is a great student on the leash. While she loves her "sniff time," she stays right with you if you pick up the pace or cue to stay focused / heel.<br/>• Wait Command: She is doing great with "wait," especially as she learns that cars are for watching, not chasing.<br/>• Recall: We’ve been working on recall and "check-ins" in the yard—she is spot-on at staying right by your side even when you change directions.<br/>• The Polite Neighbor: If you stop to chat, she’ll sit automatically. If the chat goes long, she’ll settle into a "down" and wait patiently until you’re ready to move.<br/><br/>The Lowdown<br/>➡️ Vibe: Alert "watch dog" energy mixed with sweetheart "belly rub" vibes.<br/>➡️ Habits: Loves bones, loves toys, and is a clever "Houdini" who can figure out baby gates and cabinets.<br/>➡️ Temperament: Mix of playful and zen. She shows no resource guarding and is a very quick learner. Her history with cats is unknown. 🐱❓<br/>➡️ Ideal Home: Kenzie needs an owner experienced with the Shepherd breed who can provide the leadership and mental stimulation she craves. She needs an active family to keep her brain busy! Due to her "land shark" teething phase (even tho she is doing a fantastic job with “leave it”), she’d do best with older kids. No apartments, please—she likes to alert you when visitors arrive! 📢 Fenced yard not required if you do several walks/engaged activities a day.<br/><br/>Fun facts: The Ultimate Partner 🦮<br/>🧡 Kenzie adores her people and never wants to be left out of the fun. Recently, while a resident dog was getting ready for a walk, Kenzie went over, picked up her own harness, and brought it over—she was NOT being left behind!<br/>💜 AND she loves to drag her toys and blankets out of her crate during play time. 😂 <br/><br/><br/>Kenzie is available for adoption through Ma Paws & Me Pet Rescue based out of Watertown, WI. Kenzie is spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, and current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. <br/><br/>Adoption fee is $ 425 . MPM Rescue reviews application and checks vet records and references;<br/>4. MPM foster contacts approved applicant(s) to arrange a home check and meeting with available dog(s);<br/>5.
