KENAI's Story
NOTE: Kenai and her friend, Belle, were brought in after their former owner passed away and there was no one in the family to care for them. Although they dont have to be adopted together, they would really love it if someone one could. REPORTED BY FAMILY ON BEHALF OF FORMER OWNER: Kenai is an inside dog that walks very well on the leash and knows the sit, down and leave commands. Shes friendly toward people. Could live in a home with older, dog-savvy children. Shes not a fan of loud noises or fireworks. She enjoys playing with toys. OBSERVED BY SHELTER STAFF: Belle is a sweetheart and needs a home ASAP. A shelter isnt the place for a dog of this age to be. Shes been great in our dog playgroups here at the shelter and loves attention. Her eyes are so expressive and her tail never stops wagging! OBSERVED BY TRAINER; Kenai is an older lady who enjoys just hanging out in the fresh air and taking short strolls. She is definitely not afraid to tell other dogs to back off, and would do best in a calm, quiet home. She still enjoys stretching her legs, even at her age, so taking her on a short daily walk, or 3-4 longer walks per week should be plenty to keep her happy. Weighs 58 pounds. If adopted with Belle, fee for both is only $35. If adopted on her own, fee is $25.
