Ken's Story

Meet Ken — Our Distinguished Gentleman

Some dogs walk into your life quietly. Ken plans on splashing his way in.

Ken is a handsome approximately 3-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier mix, weighing around 75 pounds, with a gorgeous brindle coat and a face that gives him the look of a true distinguished gentleman. And after waiting far too long for someone to choose him, Ken is more than ready to finally have a home of his own.

If there is one thing you need to know about Ken, it is this:

THIS BOY LOVES WATER.

A pool, a hose, a creek, a sprinkler—Ken doesn’t care. If there’s water involved, he’s ready! He absolutely cannot get enough of it, and watching him play in water is one of those things that will instantly put a smile on your face. If your idea of a good day includes backyard pool time, trips to the lake, or outdoor adventures, Ken would be thrilled to come along.

But there’s much more to this handsome guy than his love affair with water.

Ken is housebroken and crate trained, listens well, and gets along with other dogs. He’s smart, attentive, and eager to interact with his people. He does still get excited and jump up on people at times, and we’re actively working with him on keeping all four paws on the ground. He’s a big boy, so his new family should be willing to continue reinforcing those good manners.

Ken has spent enough time waiting.

Behind that striking brindle coat is a dog who deserves the ordinary things other dogs already have—a person who calls him theirs, a comfortable place to sleep, adventures to look forward to, and maybe his very own kiddie pool in the backyard.

Ken doesn’t need another temporary stop. He needs his forever.

If you’ve been looking for a loyal, handsome, water-loving companion with personality to spare, come meet our distinguished gentleman.

Ken is ready. He’s been ready. Now he just needs someone to choose him.
