K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family. <br/><br/>Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers's Adoption Policy
To be considered for adoption you must submit a questionnaire at https://k-9lifesavers.org/howtoadopt. The adoption process is almost always completed within one week from when you submit your adoption questionnaire - times can vary depending on your location, the dog’s location, and availability. Once approved, you will need to finalize your adoption by completing an adoption contract and paying the adoption fee in cash or check.  At that time, available medical records will be provided along with a variety of other information. Adoption Fees Puppy (6 months and under) – $500.00 Young/Adult Dog (7 months to 8 yrs) – $400 Golden Year – $300.00 Heartworm positive Dog – $450
