Kella-SCROLL DOWN READ ALL's Story

Adorable, funny Kella came to us after being released from her breeder. She has spent most of her years making babies for others to profit from, so it is VERY IMPORTANT for this incredibly sweet girl to go to a family or individual who will engage in a game of fetch with her toys and just allow her to enjoy all of the adventures and love that she has missed out on. She LOVES kids and we're really hoping she has the opportunity to spend time with children in your family. She is 5 years old and very healthy, weighs 35 lbs. She came to us with a skin infection that had been neglected, most likely caused by a flea allergy, but our caring vet staff took care of that. We had her groomed because she was pretty matted when we got her, but her hair is growing back nicely now that the skin infection is gone. The breeder says she is a "mini Goldendoodle" - but we are sending out a DNA test. Our vet did suggest a teeth cleaning. We are asking whoever adopts Kella to shop around or get a quote from your vet for an affordable but safe and effective teeth cleaning, and we will pay for it. This will be in our contract and we ask that you do this within 8 weeks of adopting her. Our groomer observed that Kella didn't mind other dogs as long as they weren't constantly in her face or sniffing her constantly. We have not observed her with cats, but we do know that she will chase animals that scurry! Kella LOVES learning how to walk on a leash and LOVES her walks, so we are looking for someone who will continue that with her and will either seek out a trainer, or work with her on wanting to chase squirrels!! What IS ADORABLE is that she will also chase butterflies and leaves!! Kella has not met a person that she doesn't love instantly on her walks and lays down to get a belly rub, especially from children :) HER ONLY DOWNFALL is if you leave her alone for too long she will find something to chew that she shouldn't :/ Including her pet bed : / WE REALLY want a home that has someone home most of the time since she has already spent her life in a cage. We understand people have to leave their home sometimes, and we have crated her for up to 4 hours and she did well although she does have some crate anxiety, so the less amount of time she is crated, the better. She loves a frozen peanut butter Kong and she loves her "stuffies" - one of the cute things we have noticed is that she has claimed all of the Christmas stuffies as hers and has them surrounding where she lays - we have nicknamed her Ariel, from little Mermaid :D <br/>We really want Kella to go to someone who has a fenced yard and will go out with her each time she is outside, but will also walk her for exercise ( she is very good about taking care of all her business on her walks). We do not adopt to those who tie out, too many things can happen. Our policy is to adopt to those who own their home, or if you rent, you must be the primary tenant on the lease with a verifiable, positive rental history, and a verifiable income. If all of this sounds like you and you are ready to give Kella the described life that she deserves, please request an application by emailing: brittonsanctuary@yahoo.com, and write in the subject line " Ready to commit to Kella. We deliver all of our adopted animals and will adopt as far away as 2 hours from our city of Rockford, IL.
