Meet Keava, who's name means gentle, beautiful, precious (though we're still working on the gentle part).

Size: Currently 19#, estimated to be 60# as an adult.
Age: 16 weeks (as of 10/28/2022)

This little girl was rescued from a "breeder" at 10 weeks old who handled her only by the scruff of her neck. She was the last of a litter of puppies who "needed to go" because the life she lived solely outside was too much of a burden for him. Lawn Ornament: Puppy Edition. Keava came to us shaking, scared, quiet, and exhausted. But today, at 16 weeks.. this wild child's philosophy is truly living life to the fullest.

Keava, with her stubby little legs, is the sunshine we all hope to be. She loves everyone and everything, probably a little too much. Sunbathing, frozen peanut butter licki-mats, treat dispensing balls, wrestling with her foster brother, getting yelled at by one foster sister, ignored by the other, and using the 7 year old tiny human as a food dispenser.. she makes sure she gets the most out of every experience. In hindsight, we should have named her Roomba.. because this girl will make SURE you have everything picked up off the floor. She thoroughly enjoys boxes of all kinds + stealing the leashes hanging over the banister and flying through the house with one end in her mouth, while the other (clasped) end destroys everything in its path.

She already knows sit (and does it SO well!), and is working on perfecting "lay down", and "wait". Keava has adjusted well to the other temperaments of her foster siblings, and as they all are very different, she has been able to learn lots of social cues in the last few weeks, though she does have a tendency to push boundaries after being told "no" and may need human intervention to help her on her learning journey.

Her "crate" is currently a small laundry room, secured by a baby gate + she will even "kennel" on command! She will do just about anything for food, and should be a breeze to train, especially considering she is so eager to learn (but also.. food). She will need some extra attention in the house training + leash walking departments, as she just received her 3rd shot and is able to go outside now, but she does currently utilize pee pads.


Puppies require training, so Keava is no different. Expect to work to potty train your newest addition as well as work with them on their basic obedience. We highly encourage enrolling your new addition in training courses to teach obedience and socialization skills. Please remember puppies are A LOT of work and are a commitment for life.
