We think he’s a Chihuahua / Beagle mix (our best guess), he’s 18 lbs and just under 2 years old. He’s still has a lot of puppy energy and is ready to play! He currently lives with 3 senior dogs and a 2-year-old toddler, and he does great with everyone.<br/><br/>Now let us explain why we think he’s part Beagle – he can be LOUD. Thankful he mostly uses his voice when he’s super excited (like a new person is just getting home or he’s running around in the yard), or when his foster family has to leave the house without him. In both instances, he does calm down after a few minutes, but the volume his little body produces can be jarring. We think some of it is tied to separation anxiety, but we’re hopefully with time that separation anxiety will lessen, as he has unfortunately been moved around a lot in his short life before he came to us.<br/><br/>We have also recently learned that KC can be slippery with open door: this little guy is like liquid and manages to take advantage of the tiniest opportunities for escape - thankfully he doesn't go far and comes right back to his person, but extra attention at open front doors or weak spots in the fence is needed.<br/><br/>KC would love a family who is home a lot that would let him be involved in whatever is happening. He’s happiest when he’s right underfoot, helping you out with whatever you’re doing! And when it’s time to relax, he’ll be right there with you too. He’s a Velcro dog to the max.<br/><br/>KC is pretty neutral with the other dogs in the home, so he doesn’t need a four-legged companion, but he’s very well behaved with other dogs. He’s 100% potty trained, does well in the crate after a short protest, and is a great listener in general. We wouldn’t recommend him for apartment living due to his volume and his leash walking could use some practice.
