Katya's Story

Katya

Meet Katya, a mellow, sweet, and curious two-year-old who weighs twelve pounds! She’s moderate energy and still adapting to life in the big city, but she loves to observe and sniff passersby, both human and pet. She’s polite with new people, and she’s great with other dogs, who she likes to greet and sniff. She doesn’t bark when she’s home alone, or when she hears sounds outside.

Katya is potty trained and crate trained, and she’s still learning her leash skills. She loves her three walks a day, trips to the park, and napping on the couch. Her favorite treat is a bully stick, and she loves being petted and cuddled.

She’s so easy to take care of. She likes to stay by your side and is low-maintenance.

Katya would do best with a kind, reassuring adopter who loves to cuddle and will let her sleep on the couch. She’s a great fit for apartment living in a moderate to calm household, and she’d do well as an only dog or with another dog.

What her foster says about her:
“She’s so easy to take care of and loves to snuggle. Please make sure your application gives us a good picture of your family and the life you plan on providing a dog from our rescue. We choose a home based on the BEST FIT for EACH dog and approve on a dog by dog basis. Thank you!

True North Pet Rescue Mission's Adoption Policy
First Step: Submit Your Application True North does not issue blanket approvals, we consider the needs of each specific dog when reviewing applications. If you don't have a specific dog in mind when applying, please note this on your application so that we can keep this in mind when reviewing. We require home photos for all applicants, but can accept a video replacement. Please enter as much detail as possible on your application, this helps us better understand what you are looking for and how this relates to the needs of the dog you have applied for. For puppies under 12 weeks, we require a care plan. This includes a plan for when the dog will be left alone, as puppies younger than 12 weeks should not be left alone longer than 2-3 hours at a time. Please Note: Due to the high volume of applications we receive, it is not always possible to reply to everyone. If your application is approved, you can expect the following. Second Step: Application Review & Approval 1. If your application is approved, an email will be sent connecting you with the dog's current foster. At this time, you may schedule a mutually convenient time to meet. 2. After meeting, you have 24 hours to confirm if you would like to move forward with finalizing the adoption. After this, if we have not heard from you, we will begin scheduling other meets. 3. If you choose to finalize, we will issue an adoption contract via email. Once the signed agreement has been electronically returned along with the adoption fee (which will be disclosed prior to adopting), you will be all set to coordinate for pick-up with the foster! Adoption Fees: Our adoption fees are comparable to those found amongst other well-known rescues in the city. We only accept electronic payments for adoption fees.
