Katie's Story

Katie – Trial Adoption Opportunity 🐾 🎉

Katie has been with us for a while and still hasn’t had a single application. We aren’t sure why because she is a gorgeous and loving girl. She is currently fostered with a family with kids and another DFB rescue, so we know she is a wonderful family dog.
To help her find the right home, we’re offering a 3–4 week trial adoption period— giving her future family the chance to truly get to know her and build that bond.
About Katie:
•2–3 years old. Perfect medium size (~45lbs)
•Sweet, playful, and always down for a good snuggle
•The ultimate couch buddy but she’s also crate trained.
•Does great with sturdy kids and confident, playful dogs (with proper introduction)
Once Katie feels safe, she is the most loyal, affectionate girl who truly just wants her person.
Katie is smart and eager to learn. She is very food motivated, she knows sit, paw, lay down and loves to zoom and spin. She LOVES car rides and trail walks. Leash training is a work in progress but going well. She does have amazing recall and respects boundaries when given.
Her journey:
Katie had a horrific start to life, but she is beautifully adapting to what it means to be a loved, safe, and happy pet. Her resilience is something special. She was rescued in October 2025 with a significant injury to her rear end that has healed beautifully. She has regained full bowel control and has had no accidents in her foster home. The only sign of her past is a small scar where her tail used to be.
Her past doesn’t define her — her resilience does.
She just needs someone willing to give her a chance… and in return, you’ll get one of the most devoted, loving dogs you could ever ask for.
If you’ve been thinking about adopting, this trial period is the perfect opportunity to see if Katie is your match. 💛
📩 Message us for more details or apply on our website at dawgsfightback.com
