Kasey's Story

Kasey is a young adult, smooth coated, female Saint Bernard with maybe a touch of some other dog mixed in to make her special.  She is a lover and leans into you when she sits beside you, which is her favorite place to be.  She has been spayed and is current on shots and microchipped. Kasey comes to us from Ohio where she was surrendered to a shelter as no longer wanted.  She stopped over in northern Indiana with a St Bernard foster there for a couple of months.  She quickly blended in with their other Saints and while there was vetted and spayed. Late April Kasey moved to Indianapolis where she is living at the shelter and is surrounded by cats and exotic birds.  She doesn't pay any attention to the cats and doesn't even mind them rubbing on her. She is very playful, making us believe she's a very young adult, and because she is a playful large breed, she would probably be best with young teenagers rather than small children. We have not seen a mean bone in her body, but may run over a small child while playing by accident.  The adoption fee for this gentle giant is $250 total. <hr /> IndyCLAW Rescue, Inc stands for 'Creating Lifelong Animal Welfare'. It is not just our motto, it's also our mission statement. Our adoption process is face to face and involves an application, a home visit, a 'sleep over' trial period, and a reasonable rehoming fee to conclude the adoption process. We will not ship our dogs or put them on an out of state transport. We are a not for profit group, though not yet 501c3, and do not recieve funding from any sources other than our personal incomes, generous donations from private individulals and our fees. Generally speaking, each dog we adopt out has more vet expenses than the adoption fee covers. We have a vested interest in each of our adoptable pets and want to make sure that their future home can provide for their long term needs. There is also an adoption contract that does include a clause for the return of the pet to us, if the adoption fails or circumstances change making it so the pet has to move on to another home.
