Karma is in search of a loving home, ideally a foster-to-adopt situation, or even just kind-hearted individuals who would be willing to help sponsor her stay in the boarding facility she's at. She is also eligible for a rescue transfer.<br/><br/>This sweet older lady deserves a warm and caring environment where she can thrive and feel safe. If you have the capacity to open your heart and home, or if you can assist in helping us provide a safe environment for her while she awaits a permanent placement, your support could make a world of difference in her life. <br/><br/>Karma came to our rescue on May 30, 2024 after being attacked with a machete alongside her son. Afterwards her owners left her laying there suffering for a week. When we picked her up she was rushed to the veterinarian. She was immediately hospitalized and underwent surgery, she was released on June 1, 2024 where she headed into boarding. She is now healthy and has spent over 295 days praying for her chance to shine. It has been a long road to recovery and hopefully soon she'll get her happy ending.<br/><br/>Karma is a approximately 7.5-8 year old Boxer mix. She is so sweet and very laid back. She wants love, attention, snacks and naps. She is heartworm negative. She is fully vaccinated, on ProHeart12, microchipped and spayed.<br/><br/>Her ideal home would be somewhere she can be the only dog. She is quite dog selective and would like the idea of a quiet retirement.<br/><br/>She would love a home with a securely fenced yard where she can go on walk abouts and lounge around working on her tan. Karma is the kind of dog that would be happy to curl up with you by the pool while you read on your newest book. <br/><br/>She has improved tremendously walking on a leash. She has some basic obediance training and is very well mannered. She appears to be crate trained and if we had to guess, she is house trained but may need a short refresher in a home environment.<br/><br/>We have not had Karma around kids although there were multiple young children in her past home. <br/><br/>She is not cat friendly and does have prey drive when felines are involved.<br/><br/>Karma has a permanent slice in her shoulder... lasting effects of being attacked with a machete. Some scars last a lifetime, thankfully her emotional/mental injuries seem to have healed just fine.
