Karlie's Story
Professional Beach Walker. Full-Time Velcro.

Meet Karlie, a 4-year-old, 50-pound Terrier mix with a heart that's about three sizes too big for her body. She's the kind of dog who has one career goal in life: becoming your full-time shadow.

Some dogs like to hang out with you. Karlie would like to respectfully submit an application to become your shadow. Need to go to the kitchen? She's coming.
Going to fold laundry? She'll supervise. Walking to the mailbox? She's already waiting by the door wondering what took you so long.

Karlie has somehow figured out that the best place in the entire world is approximately six inches away from her favorite human. She doesn't need to be the center of attention—she just wants to be part of whatever you're doing. If there's a couch, she'll snuggle. If there's a walk, she's ready. If there's an opportunity to hand out kisses, she's overqualified.

Then someone says the word "beach." Game over.

Karlie turns into the happiest dog you've ever seen. Sand under her paws, ocean breeze in her face, ears flopping in every direction like they're operating on their own schedule—it is absolutely her happy place. If dogs could have desktop wallpapers, hers would be a sunrise over the shoreline.

She also loves zooming around the backyard like she just remembered she's got four perfectly good legs and intends to use every single one of them. Then, five minutes later, she's back beside you pretending none of that happened and asking for another cuddle.

Karlie is incredibly smart and genuinely loves learning. She wants to make her person happy, and with consistency she catches on quickly. She's been making great progress and continues to build confidence every day. Prozac has helped take the edge off her anxiety, and she's shown that with patient guidance and a predictable routine, she settles in beautifully.

She isn't the kind of dog who's going to throw herself into every new situation on day one. New people get a thoughtful inspection first. She likes a proper introduction. But once you've been approved by the Karlie Committee—which honestly doesn't take nearly as long as she'd have you believe—you've got a loyal best friend who thinks the sun rises specifically so the two of you can spend another day together.

Karlie would be happiest as your one and only pet. She's looking for a calm, structured home with someone who appreciates a dog that's deeply connected to her person. She's fully potty trained, settles nicely in her crate, walks well on leash, and would thrive with an experienced owner who enjoys continuing her training and helping her keep building confidence.

The funny thing about Karlie is that she doesn't want to be everyone's dog. She wants to be your dog. The one waiting by the door when you get home. The one beside you on every evening walk. The one stealing half your pillow without a single ounce of guilt. The one who quietly becomes your favorite part of every ordinary day.

And one day you'll realize you didn't just give Karlie a home.
She quietly became the reason yours feels like one.

+++++++

ADOPTION APPLICATION:
https://form.jotform.com/260401018308040

+++++++

Karlie is currently being fostered in NJ and will be transported to the perfect forever home by our rescue! We have transports departing each week!

+++++++

The Truth About Rescue:

Every rescue pup is a work in progress and thats the beauty of it. None of them come wrapped in a bow, ready-made or mistake-free. They come with stories, quirks, and hearts that have seen a lot but still choose to trust again.

Adoption isnt about perfection; its about presence. Showing up for them, every day, until they know theyre finally home. Thats when youll see them bloom soft and steady into the very best version of themselves. And somewhere along the way, youll realize they were never the only one being rescued.

+++++++

Once we have received your application, we will review and reach out to set-up an interview with one of our volunteers! If you have additional questions, please email us at SaintMuttsInquiries@gmail.com.

Note: As with all of our rescues, we recommend homes with children 10 years and over to ensure the best fit for both the pets and families involved.

Check out all of our adoptable pups and learn more about our rescue on our website: www.stmuttsrescue.com
