No owner was located and so he was surrendered to a local private shelter. Due to his behavior/ biting of shelter staff (not breaking the skin), he wouldn't make it to adoptions. So, I was asked if I would take him. That was in August and I've been working with him since.
He does have a little barrier and fear aggression and some standard little dog attitude. I can reach into his crate and pick him up and then he gives me kissies.
So, I think that it can be managed with a patient and understanding home that will allow him to adjust at his own pace. I'd be leery to trust people also, knowing what all he's been through already.
Definitely no kids though.
He walks great on a leash. Good in the car. Seems to be house trained here and is for sure crate trained. Happy to chew his Benebone and burrow in the blankies. He has a fun quirky personality and gets along with all of the other small fosters in his playgroup. The family that found him noted that he was housetrained and got along great with their large dogs. He would probably be fine with cats also.
