Karina's Story

Meet Karina, a 4 year old Terrier Pit Bull mix with a playful spirit and a heart full of love. Arriving to us as a stray in January 2026, Karina has shown everyone just how special she is. She is the kind of companion who can keep up with adventures and then happily settle in close for cuddles afterward. Karina shines brightest once she has time to get comfortable in a calm environment. She warms up quickly and builds strong bonds with the people she trusts, becoming a loyal companion who loves being by your side. On walks, she enjoys taking her time to sniff and explore the world around her, making every outing an adventure. This smart girl is highly treat motivated and eager to learn, making her a great candidate for continued training and fun enrichment activities. Karina would do best as the only dog in the home so she can soak up all the attention and continue building confidence. Karina is also a Reid Krucky recipient, which means her adoption fee is fully waived and she’ll go home with supplies to help set her up for success.<br/>Come meet Karina today at our Moili'ili Campus and show her all the joys life outside the shelter has to offer!

Hawaiian Humane Society's Adoption Policy
A photo ID is required at the time of all adoptions. Hawaiian Humane operates on a first come, first served basis, if you complete a questionnaire for a particular pet online, that does not reserve the pet. To best serve you, check in at least 30 minutes before closing to meet with an adoptions representative. Please note that if you wish to conduct a meet-and-greet between your dog and one of our available dogs, due to the high volume of visitors, you may be asked to wait outside our gate with your pet until an adoptions representative is available or reschedule for a different day.
