Meet Karen
Meet Karen!
This stunning girl walked into a local bar one day as a stray. Estimated to be about 6 yo, she gets along well with most smaller dogs - and tolerates large dogs in small doses when she's feelin' it. LOL She does like her space too and would do well as an only dog in the family. If there is another canine, she would appreciate a canine sibling that respects her boundaries. Karen does okay, supervised, around dog savvy cats. We believe she was spayed before becoming a stray.
She is leash trained (no pulling), loves to play fetch and knows basic commands. She would make a perfect hiking/adventure buddy! This sweet girl would do great in a home with an older couple willing to take her on walks, but who would also enjoy lounging and relaxing with her in their down time. She has been around one older child that is dog savvy and does great - but has not been tested around young children or groups of kids (so is an unknown). She also does well while crated for short periods. She is not a jumper, or overly-hyper dog. Karen is a well-behaved beauty.
As with all working breeds, Karen needs a well-secured, escape proof area with room to wander - as well as mental stimulation to reduce boredom.
Please, only apply if you can give Karen a fur-ever home.
If you are interested in adopting Karen, you must fill out an application first. You can go to www.LAFPOGCW.org to complete one, or message us here and we will email you a copy.
You must fill out and submit an application to even be considered for a meet and greet. We do require references. Thank you!
