Kara's Story

Kara is a sweet and affectionate 5-year-old red nose pitbull who has been in a loving home her entire life. Recently her caregiver had moved into long term care due to medical conditions and will not be coming home. Kara is now needing to find a new forever home. Spayed and full of love, she’s both kennel and house trained, and gets along wonderfully with people and other dogs. Kara’s joyful personality means she can get a bit hyper when excited especially when greeting people, which sometimes includes jumping so she’s best suited to a home with older/dog savvy kids. While she hasn’t had much exposure to children, her enthusiasm is never aggressive, just a little overwhelming due to her size and energy.

This smart girl knows basic commands like sit, shake a paw, and roll over, and she thrives with structure and positive reinforcement. Kara does have some allergies, so she’ll need to stay on hypoallergenic or kangaroo-based food to keep her comfortable and healthy. The only area she could use a bit more training is on the leash, as she tends to pull during walks.

Kara would do best with an active person or family who can provide regular walks, structured playtime, and trips to the park. Though she’s always been the only dog in her home, she genuinely enjoys the company of other dogs and would likely thrive with a friendly canine companion. If you’re looking for a loyal, energetic, and loving dog to share your life with, Kara might just be the perfect match.
