Thank you!<br/><br/><br/>Kara is a sweet, approximately ten year old small bundle of love waiting for her next family. She previously spent all day in a kennel, because her owners were gone 12+ hours a day, and her new family must agree to never put her in a kennel. She loves attention, and when getting a belly rub, she will grunt and snort happily to show her affection and appreciation. She is unable to jump on and off furniture, and will wait to be assisted, so her new family must be able to easily pick her up to help her.<br/><br/><br/>Kara would do best with a family where someone works from home or is home most of the day because she likes nothing better than being in the same room, following her people, and laying near her family. Because she was left in a kennel for hours on end, she needs help with house training. Her family will need to be able to take her outside at least every three hours to ensure that she becomes trained. Her training has been successful in her foster home, where she is taken outside on a regular schedule, every 3-4 hours.<br/><br/><br/>Kara will go on walks but it’s not necessarily her favorite thing to do. Just being with her people is what she really wants to do. She currently sleeps in a dog bed on the floor near her foster family at night, but she would love to be included in the big bed with her family. She does snore quite loudly for her small size. Kara has lived with other dogs and a cat and appears to be accepting of living in a household with other small pets.<br/><br/><br/>The following are requirements for Kara’s new family:<br/><br/><br/>· A fenced in yard would be great because she loves exploring the backyard, being outdoors with her owners, and basking in the outdoor sunshine.<br/><br/><br/>· A family who is home most of the day and will include her in their routine and daily activities.<br/><br/><br/>· A family with children over the age of ten who understand how to be gentle and respectful of small dogs, will be considered.<br/><br/><br/>· Live within 30 minutes of Fridley, MN.<br/><br/><br/>· Agree to attend the annual Shih Zhu Rescue Reunion held in September of each year.<br/><br/><br/>Kara is spayed, current on vaccinations, microchipped, and is on heartworm and flea/tick preventative. She is scheduled for a dental on November 17 and will be ready to go to her new home after recovery.<br/><br/><br/>Kara’s adoption fee is $220.00 plus $19.86 in sales tax, for a total of $239.86.
