Kano's Story

4/2/2025

Kano is an owner surrender looking for a new home.

Hi! My name is Kano! I am a handsome 8 year old fawn boy that is an owner surrender after my owner passed away and the family I am with is unable to keep me due to another male dog in the home and I not getting along. My current family says I have two small bumps on my back and a large lump on my foot but it doesn't seem to hurt or cause me any difficulty in movement. I am described as active, protective, playful, affectionate, and obedient! I am house trained but have been 'marking' in the kitchen possibly in response to the male dog in the home. I do not get along with the male dog in the home but am friendly and playful with the female boxer in the home so a proper meet and greet would be needed. I am said to be kid friendly, but very rough when playing and can accidentally knock a small child down thinking the child is playing with me. My owner's nieces and nephews (ages 4-16 years) come visit and I am fine with them. I have never lived with a cat so it is uncertain if I am feline friendly. At night I sleep in my bed, on the couch, or in the human's bed. If the humans must be away from the home and I am left alone, I will behave as long as the trash is kept out of reach. When outside I do not attempt to jump fences/gates but I am curious what is under the grass and will dig to find out. I am fearful of fireworks and loud bangs but some of my favorite things are riding in the car, tennis balls, bouncy balls, treats, ear rubs, and getting attention! If you think I would make a great addition to your home, contact the rescue today and give them my name because I am waiting to meet you!
