!!Foster Based Rescue or Adopter Needed!! Kanan was found near the Cinderella Bridge in Mill Creek Park back on February 3, 2026. He like so many others has not been claimed by his owners. Unfortunately he lacked veterinary care before we took him in. His teeth are in need of a dental and he is heart worm positive. Once he is in a home he will need heart worm treatment. Kanan is quite the character despite his past. He naps out in the hot sun for hours. He is not a fan of the shade despite our coaxing. When we go out to bring him inside he play pounces and zigs and zags so as to not make our mornings boring. LOL He makes us laugh every day. This dog is amazing with other dogs. He matches each new friends play style and respects their boundaries. He will zoom and wrestle or just keep someone company. He is good with boy and girl dogs and has never made an enemy. Kanan loves toys, soft treats, redi whip and cheese. He has a great temperament and is medium energy. The fee is determined by the weight of the dog when they have their spay/ neuter surgery. The fee covers spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine, lyme test, heart worm test, dewormer, dapp vaccine and dog license. Friends of Fido is a non-profit organization that helps the dogs at the Mahoning County Dog Warden. They are offering to cover the costs of the first round of training to any dog adopted from the pound.
