Kaida (Kai)'s Story

Kaida's name means "little dragon," and it suits her perfectly. She is spirited, brave, full of personality, and a survivor.

When Kaida first came to Boxers & Buddies, she was out of time. She found herself on a euthanasia list because shelters are overcrowded, not because she had done anything wrong. We don't know everything about Kaida's past, but we do know she wasn't given the same start in life that every puppy deserves. She missed out on early socialization, confidence building, and learning that the world can be a safe place.

Since joining our rescue, Kaida has been learning, growing, and discovering what it means to be loved. With patience, structure, and positive experiences, we have watched her true personality come out.

And who is the real Kaida? She is a happy, playful girl who really, really, REALLY loves her people. She loves attention, affection, and being part of the action. She plays well with other dogs and enjoys having canine friends who match her energy.

Kaida is crate trained, smart, eager to learn, and currently working on her basic obedience skills. She wants to do the right thing and thrives when she has a person who gives her clear guidance and consistency.
Because of her past, Kaida is still learning how to handle big emotions. When she gets overstimulated, she can become reactive. Busy, chaotic environments like dog parks are not her happy place. Kaida prefers a calmer world where she can relax, feel secure, and trust the person by her side.

One of the most special things about Kaida is how connected she is to her handler. She feels the energy of the person holding the leash. If you believe in her, encourage her, and show her she is safe, Kaida blossoms into the loving, goofy girl we know. If someone is unsure or nervous, Kaida feels that too.

Kaida recently thought she had found her forever home, but sadly she was returned before she had the chance to truly settle in. She didn't get the opportunity to build a bond, start positive reinforcement training, or learn that her new environment was safe before fear took over.
But we know Kaida.

We know the girl who plays with her dog friends.
We know the girl who lights up when she sees her people.
We know the girl who just needs someone willing to give her time, patience, and the chance she has always deserved.

Kaida would thrive in a home that will:
* Continue positive reinforcement training
* Provide structure, patience, and consistency
* Enjoy a playful, affectionate companion
* Understand that confidence takes time to build
* Advocate for her instead of putting her in overwhelming situations

Kaida isn't looking for perfection. She's looking for a person who understands that the best relationships are built on trust.

This little dragon has already survived so much. Now she's ready for someone to help her write the next chapter. We require professional obedience training from a certified trainer for ALL adoptions.
If you are interested in meet or adoption me, please fill out an adoption application athttps://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=sa3058&method=online_form_html&formid=41
