KAIA's Story

KAIA's story - PLEASE READ BEFORE APPLYING

This beautiful 1 year young lady had a hopeful beginning, which turned into a lot of sadness. She was adopted to a nice family when she was a little puppy in Lebanon. Just a few months later, one of the family members became very ill, and no one had time for her anymore.

For many months, she was kept in an apartment, never left the house, never went on walks, didn't see or interact with humans other than the family members when they came home. She went potty on the balcony. This was her sad life......

We saw a post in Lebanon that her owners wanted to give her up, so we stepped up to help them. We matched her up with a wonderful family who welcomed her to Montreal on March 6th. They were so amazing and did everything to prepare for her arrival.

KAIA was so stressed when leaving Lebanon. Her family were an emotional mess, crying at the airport, causing her so much stress. The 24+ hours travel to follow didn't help.

She arrived to Montreal then the family went home with her to Ottawa. Sadly, it didn't take long when it was clear her stress level would make it difficult to co-exist with children and another dog. She wasn't ready for that yet.

Now, KAIA is in a foster home in Montreal area, and we are looking for the right home for her. A calm gentle home, but one that is prepared and be committed to work with her on her immediate issues. We as a rescue will be by your side, and will assist/guide in her training needs and be beside you all the way. We have an assessment by an excellent trainer as well.

WHAT KAIA NEEDS:

- commitment knowing she needs time, patience.
- allow her to fully decompress and shake the stress off.
- an experienced adopter who is willing to give her what she needs, training, time love and care.
- be fully on board for her long term well being.
- preferably be an only dog until time passes and she learns to be a normal dog again.
- no children, other pets or a chaotic home....this will not work.

If you are interested in KAIA, let us know by filling out the application (COPY + PASTE the link below in your browser

https://www.rescuedogslebanoncanada.org/adoption-application

OR CALL Cynthia at 416-587-8804
