Meet Kai! <br/><br/>Kai is a 5-year-old, male, Australian Shepherd with a heart as big as his beautiful smile. He’s the full package --- looks, brains and charisma. <br/><br/>Kai came to rescue after his senior owners made the incredibly difficult decision to rehome him due to health and age challenges. It’s clear he was raised with love—Kai is well-mannered, affectionate, and loves being around people.<br/><br/>He is neutered, fully vetted, vaccinated, and microchipped. Kai is house- trained, crate-trained, great on walks and car rides, and knows commands like sit, down, stay, and leave it. <br/><br/>Like a true Aussie, Kai loves to play fetch with a ball or frisbee, but his favorite thing is simply resting his head in your lap and soaking up all the pets.<br/><br/>Kai does well with dogs, cats, adults, and kids and would thrive with an active person or family who can give him lots of exercise as well as love and attention. A fully fenced yard is preferred so he can run and play. Kai is hoping to find a new forever family—maybe even his “soul dog” person.<br/><br/>Could that be you?<br/><br/>Local adoptions only. We do not adopt out of the state of Illinois. Kai is being fostered in a private home. Appointments to meet him will be set up for approved adopters only. His adoption fee is $350 which includes all age appropriate vaccines. He is neutered and microchipped. He has also been kept on both flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.
