Meet Kai! <br/><br/>At 12 years old and just 5 pounds, Kai is the definition of a tiny lady with a heart full of quiet sweetness. Beautiful inside and out, this precious Chihuahua is looking for a patient family where she can finally enjoy the peaceful, loving life she deserves.<br/><br/>Kai came to Deeby's Senior Chihuahua Rescue from a heartbreaking hoarding situation involving 130 dogs. While she didn't have many opportunities to experience the world, she has a gentle, kind spirit and is ready to discover just how wonderful life can be.<br/><br/>She's timid, but not terrified. Every day she grows a little braver, especially when she has another confident little dog nearby to show her that people can be trusted and life is full of good things. Because of this, Kai will do best in a home with another friendly, well-adjusted small dog to help build her confidence.<br/><br/>Kai is crate trained, uses potty pads well, and is learning that the world beyond her comfort zone isn't so scary after all. She's not used to walking on a leash yet, so she'll need a family willing to let her learn at her own pace with plenty of patience and encouragement.<br/><br/>Kai gets along wonderfully with other small dogs and would love a canine companion. Cats are unknown. Because she's shy and still building confidence, she's looking for a home without small children where she can feel safe and secure.<br/><br/>If you have a soft spot for the shy ones-the dogs whose love is earned one tiny step at a time-Kai will absolutely steal your heart. You must be at least 21-years-old to adopt. <br/><br/>Please have your veterinarian and two non-family reference phone numbers ready.
