Kahlua's Story
Kahlua is an approximately 3-year-old Boxer mix weighing a petite 40 pounds.

She came to us as a stray and, despite having a microchip, no one came forward to reclaim her. Like many dogs who suddenly find themselves in a shelter environment, Kahlua has needed some time to adjust. The noise, activity, and constant changes can be overwhelming, and she can be shy when meeting new people.

Give her a little time, though, and you'll discover a sweet girl with a gentle personality that is easy to love.

Kahlua is still rebuilding her confidence and learning that the world is a safe place again. She benefits from patience, understanding, and the opportunity to settle into a routine at her own pace. She has done well with the dogs she has met and enjoys having the chance to relax and simply be herself.

Her future family should be prepared to allow her time to decompress and adjust as she settles into a new home. With consistency, kindness, and a little patience, Kahlua is sure to continue blossoming.

Kahlua is spayed, microchipped, heartworm tested, current on vaccines, dewormed, and on monthly preventatives.

Apply to adopt here:
https://orangecountyva.gov/159/Pet-Adoption-Foster-Care-Information
