Kaci's Story

Meet Kaci: The Comeback Queen!!
Kaci is a red heeler whose story is nothing short of extraordinary. Rescued from an overcrowded shelter in Texas after being hit by a car and left for dead, she suffered fractures in both of her back legs. It would have been easy to give Kaci had other plans. After four surgeries, months of healing, and an incredible amount of resilience, Kaci has made a full recovery. Today, she’s healthy, happy, active and ready to find the forever home she fought so hard for.

At two years old, Kaci is the perfect blend of calm and playful. She’s old enough to relax and enjoy quiet moments—like her favorite pastimes of lounging on the porch and watching the world go by or cuddling up next to her favorite person—but still young and energetic enough to be an ideal adventure companion. Kaci is a true people dog. She loves being near her person and is happiest when she’s snuggled up close. She’s also wonderfully social—she gets along great with other dogs and absolutely adores the cats in her foster home (even if they don’t quite return the sentiment!). Kaci is house-broken, crate-trained, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations.

Kaci didn’t just survive—she thrived. Now all she needs is a loving home to complete her journey. Could that be yours? 🐾
Please contact kathie@herdinghaven.org if you would like to meet Kaci!
