Kacey

Kacey is an almost 1 year old mixed breed spayed female. She appears to be a lab mix. She is between 35 and 40 lbs. She might get a little bigger but probably not much. So, the perfect mid-sized dog!<br/><br/>I have had her in my home for almost 3 days and have learned a few things.<br/>-Kacey has the most beautiful amber colored eyes and very soft ears <br/>-She has had 0 accidents in the house or her crate.<br/>-She kennels easily and can settle for a few hours without protest.<br/>- She sleeps all night in her kennel without whining.<br/>-She is obsessed with my large dog! They play rough and then settle down to chew their respective bones. <br/>-She walks easily on the leash.<br/>- She is very interested in cats. We have 4 so it's kind of a lot. I would not trust her alone with a cat but do think it would be possible for her to learn to be respectful.<br/>- She's not a big barker. <br/>-She is treat motivated.<br/>-She is up for anything and travels well in the car.<br/>- She is great around elementary school aged kids. I haven't observed her around toddlers or babies but so far she has given me no reason for concern. <br/><br/>Things we are working on.<br/>Still polishing up the basics like come, sit, down, off, leave it, watch me...<br/>We're using lots of treats and honestly when their are no big distractions,(ie cats, dogs) she does Very Well. We are doing 3 or 4 small training sessions per day.<br/><br/>Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. <br/><br/>Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. <br/><br/>Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog.
